There has been recent update by Google between 5-6th feb 2012 update. Google PR is very important for sites and is a very misunderstood term by many.
Google PR basically ranks a page on the basis of its backlinks and how authorative that link is. And high Google PR may boost ranking of the site.
There will be a changes in rankings on Google before the PR update comes.
Basically, Google rolls out a PR update in every 3-4 months of a year. And YES! Its 2012 first PR update. I hope that your blog’s PR must have been increased if not get some high quality backlinks.
Many pages of Geekscrunch got PR 2 and the point that is to be note is that Pages PR are the most accurate.
6th February 2012 PR update has been confirmed and is not a minor one. My two blogs PR got increased and there current PR is now 2. I very happy and hope that in next PR update, Geekcrunch PR will be 4.

PageRank 5 for a two months old website, the strange thing is that i didn’t see any pagerank modification on older websites.
I got bumped as well. Very glad. Some people say it doesn’t matter but I think it’s a nice trait to see your work having some retribution and knowing you are going in the right direction.
Marco, PR does matter. If your blog has no PR it wont rank good on Google. There are my rumors about PR.
My directory, http://www.jasminedirectory.com remained ar 4. But all category pages went up from 2 to 3.
My site is only 35 days old and i got a PR 2 today, but i haven’t really seen any impact on my SERP’s yet.

Minor updated. Not for home pages.
So far, it looks like my blog’s PageRank didn’t change. Ah well, I am not too concerned. The only thing I have found PR to be good for is advertising, which is helpful to diversify my blog’s income.
