We’ve all heard of people hacking, phishing, and finding their ways to get your personal information. Security these days is essential. In order to stay protected online, consider a firewall, a VPN service, and a spam filter to make sure you’re secure on the internet. It would also be a good idea to include an anti-virus and spyware detecting software in your list of ways to stay safe.

With these threats on the internet, it’s no wonder people are weary of giving out private information. Simple emails can be mistaken for phishing attempts and sites that look similar to sites you trust can set you up with viruses. A good preventative measure is looking at the URL – especially if you’re going to be giving data out. Make sure that the site has a security certificate if you’ll be giving out things like your social security number or credit card number.

In summary, one can be sure these days that they’ll come across viruses, spyware, and scams to give out private information. Stick to the suggestions above, be weary, and use a bit of common sense and you can find yourself a lot more secure on the internet.
